Kota Kinabalu's one stop dining and famous entertainment centre, it is approximately 13-minute drive from SICC. Plan a couple of meet ups after hours. Formerly known as Kota Kinabalu City Bird Sanctuary, the site covers 24 hectares of mangrove forest. It is approximately 6-minute drive from SICC. Apart from self-guided walks, there are a range of activities that includes environmental education programs, corporate volunteer and MICE CSR programs. On the East coast of Sabah, delegates can make a day trip to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. The journey takes 5 hours by ride. However, there are frequent flights from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan which takes approximately 45 minutes. The world-famous rescue and rehabilitation facility includes large forest enclosures to provide a natural environment suited to the needs and welfare of the wildlife and facilitate their rehabilitation back into the wild.
Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP) is located off the coast of Kota Kinabalu. It is made up of five islands; Gaya, Manukan, Sapi, Sulug and Mamutik. An hourly speedboat rides are available at Jesselton Point Jetty, approximately 8-minute drive from SICC. It is a perfect destination for corporate team-building or spouse program with wide range of water sport activities including scuba diving, underwater scooter, snorkelling and zip line. There are also a few resorts available within the marine park.
Mari Mari Cultural Village is situated amidst a remote forest setting in Kionsom, Inanam, approximately 27-minute drive from SICC. Various traditional homes of Sabah's ethnic communities will be introduced, built by the descendants of the tribes.
