Parking

SICC carparks are accessible throughout 24 hours per day, the security patrolled parking bays is managed by an appointed parking operator.

Starting from 1st July 2021, there will be charges of car park fee per entry. It is applicable for cars only, free entry for motorcycles. Please refer to the rates below;

A total of 952 undercover self-parking spaces are available on level 1 and 2, with coach bays accessible for the convenience of visitors at SICC. Wheelchair access is also made easy from all public access.

Getting there by car

The Sabah International Convention Centre is in Kota Kinabalu city, it is situated on the seafront next to the Kota Kinabalu Port along Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens towards Tanjung Lipat. The distance from KKIA is 11km.

Getting there by air

Fast growing air connectivity to Kota Kinabalu places Kota Kinabalu International airport (KKIA) the second busiest airport in Malaysia. There are direct flights from Perth, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, Brunei, Bangkok, Hong Kong and many more regional hubs. Full service carrier and low cost carriers operate over 25 daily direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. BKI is the airport code for Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

Guest Services

The Guest Services reception desk is conveniently located on the Level 3 main entrance, our friendly and knowledgeable Guest Services team stand ready to serve daily from 8am to 10pm to assist visitors with facility information and provide directional assistance.

Accessibility

Accommodating every needs of every visitor is part of what makes the Sabah International Convention Centre the venue of choice for event planners. Wheelchair access is made easy from all public access with designated undercover car parking space. Once inside, the facility is designed to accommodate patrons of all mobility levels with elevators access to every floor and wheelchair-accessible restrooms on all levels.

WiFi

WiFi is available to registered participants for business events, it is available in public areas throughout the convention centre.

Security & Loss Property

The Sabah International Convention Centre take the safety and security of all visitors and staff very seriously, SICC has an in-house security services that works to maintain a secure environment 24hours a day. At the end of the event, any unclaimed items may be submitted to SICC housekeeping department, which inventories and holds the items for 90 days (with the exception of perishable goods such as food and drinks). Please note that SICC is not responsible for lost or damaged items, it is up to the centre’s discretion to dispose of items.

Places of interest

Kota Kinabalu's one stop dining and famous entertainment centre, it is approximately 13-minute drive from SICC. Plan a couple of meet ups after hours. Consider the local bar or hot spots at Waterfront for a few Happy Hours with conference or delegates goers, it is also a great place overlooking the sunset over the South China Sea.

Formerly known as Kota Kinabalu City Bird Sanctuary, the site covers 24 hectares of mangrove forest. It is approximately 6-minute drive from SICC. Apart from self-guided walks, there are a range of activities that includes environmental education programs, corporate volunteer and MICE CSR programs. Advance notice is required prior to scheduling a program.

The Handicraft Market is a favoured shopping haunt for locals and tourists alike. It is approximately 11-minute drive from SICC. Souvenirs galore of beautiful sarongs, pareos and many more awaits. Be sure to check the glistening and gorgeous pearl jewellery and handicrafts. Suitable for a quick stop to purchase souvenirs and spouse program.

Celebrate the setting sun of Borneo in an exclusive voyage experience with Amazing Love Cruise by Sutera Sanctuary Lodges, a perfect way to end a day of conferencing in Kota Kinabalu. Enjoy a range of delectable canapés and beverages prepared freshly on board. Take a tour to the most frequented islands in Kota Kinabalu, the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and have a feast on barbecue spreads on starry night along the white sandy beaches of the islands.

Originally named Bond Street, Gaya Street located in the Kota Kinabalu Business District has been the centre of business for over hundred years. It is approximately 6-minute drive from SICC. Shop for anything such as batik sarongs, fruits and flowers, arts and crafts, antiques and souvenirs. This is the best place to experience the cross-section of the local population during Sunday outing. Perfect for pre-conference activity on weekend, spouse program or for those delegates who stayed over the weekend.

On the East coast of Sabah, delegates can make a day trip to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. The journey takes 5 hours by ride. However, there are frequent flights from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan which takes approximately 45 minutes. The world-famous rescue and rehabilitation facility includes large forest enclosures to provide a natural environment suited to the needs and welfare of the wildlife and facilitate their rehabilitation back into the wild.

Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP) is located off the coast of Kota Kinabalu. It is made up of five islands; Gaya, Manukan, Sapi, Sulug and Mamutik. An hourly speedboat rides are available at Jesselton Point Jetty, approximately 8-minute drive from SICC. It is a perfect destination for corporate team-building or spouse program with wide range of water sport activities including scuba diving, underwater scooter, snorkelling and zip line. There are also a few resorts available within the marine park.

Mari Mari Cultural Village is situated amidst a remote forest setting in Kionsom, Inanam, approximately 27-minute drive from SICC. Various traditional homes of Sabah's ethnic communities will be introduced, built by the descendants of the tribes. For a more hands-on experience, check out the little huts to know more about the daily routines of traditional Sabahan life. Visitors will also get the chance to sample Sabahan traditional delicacies. Suitable for spouse program, corporate FAM trips or weekend activities for delegates.

Kinabalu Park is Malaysia's first World Heritage Site and centre of Plant Diversity for South East Asia, approximately 1 hour 39-minute drive by car from SICC. The main attraction at the park is the majestic Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest mountains in South East Asia. Surrounding the park is a multitude of attractions and activities such as mountain expedition, farm tours, canopy walk and photography. Suitable for spouse program, pre and post conference program or weekend activities for delegates.
