Guidelines & Information

Planner’s initial contact with the SICC is with a representative from the Sales & Marketing Department. A Sales Representative will review the Planner’s proposed event requirements including projected dates, space needs and rate structures (for ticketed events).

Following the designation of available venue rental space at SICC, the SICC Sales Representative may enter a venue agreement for planner’s event. An event will be regarded as confirmed function space reservation following the execution of SICC venue agreement and payment of deposit to SICC. Upon the execution of the SICC Venue Agreement, SICC will assign an Event Manager to work with the event planning and implementation. The Event Manager will be in contact and will remain as the primary liaison until the conclusion of the event.

SICC is a multi-purpose venue, and may have simultaneous events in the complex. To ensure the smooth operation of your event, advance details of event information including logistics will help the team at SICC coordiate public areas for multiple events.

Without the consent of SICC, the following materials are prohibited: glitter; helium balloons; electrical cooking equipment; open flame devices; welding, cutting or brazing equipment; ammunition; radioactive devices; pressure vessels; exhibits involving hazardous processing and materials; fireworks or pyrotechnics; blasting agents /explosives; flammable cryogenic gases; aerosol cans with flammable propellants; gas operated cooking equipment; portable heating equipment.

Helium balloons or adhesive backed decals may not be given away or utilized without the express permission of the SICC. Any costs incurred by the SICC for the removal of these items will be charged to the venue Hirer in the final settlement. Any balloon that has to be taken down from the ceiling is RM500 each. The cost for any adhesive backed decal left behind will vary depending on the situation.

Facilities

Level 2

The complex offer three contiguous Exhibition Halls with direct access to the loading docks and storage rooms, the exhibition hall encompasses a 5,177 square metres (55, 270 sq ft) flexible event space which can accommodate up to 280 exhibition booths. Across from the spacious Pre-Function Hall are 6 separate meeting room of various sizes with an addition to a private VVIP lounge.

Level 3

The main entrance to the Convention Centre is located closest to the Performing Arts Hall, which is the complex’s signature centrepiece offering a seating capacity of 1,250 in a two-tier amphitheatre designed with built-in stage and technology advanced audio-visual and stage lighting.

Connecting to the main lobby is the outdoor plaza, set against a backdrop of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and the South China Sea which is well suited for open concerts and exhibitions. The multipurpose public area could fit up to a crowd of over 7,000.

Level 4

The expansive column-free convention halls are designed with retractable partition system that can be divided into three sections with a distinctive feature of 11-metre-high ceiling complete with stunning crystal chandeliers, equipped with hi-tech audio-visual aid presentation, full conference facilities and Pre-Function area that can be transformed into a reception space fit up to 1,500 delegates.

Level 5

The highest floor of the complex dedicated to 12 centrally located meeting rooms with sizes range from 32 to 223 square metres and an executive meeting suite, equipped with meeting amenities and audio-visual aid presentation.

Other amenities include media rooms, business centre, prayer rooms, baby changing rooms and accessible washrooms.
